FEMINA
Femina is the brand I created as my self-authored thesis project. Femina is a celebration of the iconic women who were trailblazers in their field. The project at is core is an app and several posters, designed to be hung in several subway stops across New York City. The posters contain a QR code that allows users to scan the poster, thus launching the app experience. The app brings you through the life and times of the woman featured on that poster and allows you to explore other locations, feminist icons, and, of course, shop.

POSTER DESIGN
I kicked off my thesis project by designing the four posters. I researched feminist icons throughout the decade to search for women who paved the way in their respective careers, focusing on the arts particularly. I wanted hyper-chromatic depictions of these women to illustrate the vibrancy of their legacy. After illustrating them, I lettered their first names vertically next to their faces.
BRANDING DESIGN
BRANDING DESIGN
the BRANDING
After creating the posters I built out a larger brand inspired by the them. I wanted to convey an uplifting and joyous tone. I chose a bright color palette for the branding to mirror what I created for the posters. I wanted to incorporate natural, curvy lines to emulate women, who are at the heart of the project.

Once I had art & larger branding in place, I executed the larger concept of the project, which was the corresponding app. This app includes educational content designed to be triggered by scanning the poster’s QR code. It also has sections for shopping, further education, and a map leading users to all the posters across their city.
